“I came to New York after studying at the San Francisco Art Institute; maybe because I didn’t know anyone here, my first project was self-portraits.  This was followed by night festivals, shooting infrared film in the dark. The project grew and eventually took me to Italy and India.

India and Pakistan became the focus of much of my subsequent work. A grant from the Asian Cultural Council helped me complete a project on sacred sites. From there, women in the limestone industry, the beaches of Mumbai- one project followed another.

My photographs have been exhibited and published throughout the US and Europe, and are held in collections including the Brooklyn Museum, the Fine Arts Museum Houston, the Bibliothèque nationale de France, and the Milwaukee Art Museum.”
