Our new APAG website – by Mary Engel (5/13)
Hi,
I’m thrilled that we are finally launching our new APAG website! It has taken a long time, but the time is now! It is still a work in progress, but I hope you find it educational and interesting if you are handling an archive, or have an interest in photography. We began with 5 original charter members over dinner, and now we have over 130 people in the group, have meetings at the school at ICP. We are celebrating our 10th Anniversary this year, and hope to have an event in the Fall! Please email me with any questions.
Best,
Mary
Regina Monfort – Moving Walls online exhibit
Moving Walls is an online photographic exhibition sponsored by the Open Society Foundation.
BEYOND GRAND STREET, Brooklyn, New York
In late 1994, I began photographing teenagers from the Puerto Rican and Dominican communities of Brooklyn’s Williamsburg section. Williamsburg is mostly known for its waterfront area and is often referred to as the “new East Village.” Only a few blocks away, beyond Grand Street, is another world where youth face the challenge of growing up without the benefit of the area’s progressive gentrification.

Ernst Haas – New book “On Set”
“ON SET,” featuring the film stills of photographer Ernst Haas will be available for purchase on Amazon.com starting March 30, 2013.
This volume considers the film-stills of Ernst Haas, one of the most accomplished photographers of the twentieth century, transgressing the borders between static photography and the moving image. Haas worked with a variety of directors – from Vittorio de Sica to John Huston, Gene Kelly and many others.
