Tony Vaccaro show at the Pollock-Krasner House in East Hampon on May 28, 2017

Date: May 4, 2017 - Jul 29, 2017

On Thursday, May 4, 2017, please join us at the Pollock-Krasner House in East Hampton, NY, for the opening of “East End Art World, August 1953: Photographs by Tony Vaccaro. Tony Vaccaro himself will attend the reception night, May 28, 5:00 pm, and give a short talk. The shows runs through the July 29.

Last Summer, about ten rolls of film were discovered from Tony’s trip to the Hamptons, 65 years ago. These were combined with the dozens of negatives already known and identified to create a pool of over 300 images. From these, Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center director Helen Harrison, along with help from staff of the Tony Vaccaro Studio, picked her favorites. Other artists such as Tino Nivola, Alfonso Osorio, William Zogbaum, Willem de Kooning, and more, also make appearances.

The exhibition of 20 prints will grace the walls of the Museum, so include museum admission in your trip planning.  http://www.stonybrook.edu/pkhouse/   ; Each of the twenty photographs used are available as signed, limited editions, of those prints.
