Tony Vaccaro in Villa Breda, Italy
Thank You: Andrea Morelli!
The Villa Breda Museum at Ponte di Brenta, Padua, Italy, has officially opened: “Tony Vaccaro, Shots of Life, Fotografie 1945-1975”. This gorgeous 80 print exhibition, curated by Andrea Morelli, opened April 22, 2018 to a large crowd with the Monroe Gallery of Photography representing for all sales.
The show will run seven weeks at the elegant nineteenth century mansion, a 20-minute drive from Venice.
Like most of Tony’s recent exhibitions, the war photography plays a lesser role, as new celebrity and fashion work continues to be discovered by archivists at his studio.
Curator Andrea Morelli has a long history of partnerships with Tony dating back to the publication of “Frank Lloyd Wright” in 1998 and the “La Mia Italia” traveling exhibition that began in 1999. Morelli combined the best of “La Mia Italia” with his passion for new studio discoveries like “Mary Jane Russell, Seated”, which he used above in the exhibition flyer.
