Edward Steichen: The Last Printing
George Tice: Seldom Seen

Danziger Gallery presented a show of 80 Edward Steichen photographs printed by the renowned photographer George Tice, who was the last person to print for Steichen in his lifetime. In conjunction with Steichen's work, the gallery also presented 12 rarely seen George Tice photographs along with his classic signature image, "Petit's Mobil Station, Cherry Hill, NJ, 1974."

The gallery exhibited a selection of photographs taken in 1951, in Florence, Italy after a chance meeting between Orkin and Jinx Allen, a painter and fellow American. Orkin photographed Allen walking around the city. Her best known image, "American Girl in Italy" is part of that series of photographs.

Drawn from the Morris Museum's collection, the exhibition examined the important role of the Farm Security Administration and the Office of War Information in documenting life in the South in the nineteen-thirties and nineteen-forties. It included work by APAG photographers Esther Bubley and Marion Post Wolcott.

This exhibition explored the spirit of children through the lenses of major twentieth century photographers, including APAG members Arthur Leipzig, Morris Engel, Ruth Orkin and Esther Bubley. As a counterpart to these professional images, the exhibit included a selection of 41 juried photographs of children taken by children from Fairfield, Litchfield, and New Haven counties in Connecticut.
